Pastor Macchia has a long history with the Christian Assembly Church. He was born and raised in this church under the ministry of his father Pastor Mike Macchia. He grew up under the teaching and leadership of other strong people in the church like his mother Elizabeth, and Associate Pastor Sam Macchia, and Deacons Tom Gibson and George Odom, among many others. 

Pastor Macchia began ministering professionally at the church in 1992 as a Youth Pastor under his father. He began seminary in 1994 and completed his MDiv in 1997. He accepted the calling of Senior Pastor that same year. Over the course of his ministry, he has been blessed to work along side of his family. His aunts Frances Slusser and Rose Ferguson were vital to the music program for many years.  

Over the next couple of decades a lot would happen under his ministry. With the help of his sister Judy Kornafel, the church would host a variety of dynamic ministries including a choir, praise and drama teams, a successful children's program, and food pantry. 

In May of 2017, Pastor Macchia would graduate with his PhD in New Testament, and on September 20, 2018 he would marry his wife Jane in the Philippines. Jane participates in the music program at the church and currently pursues her RN.

Along with pastoring, Pastor Macchia has taught New Testament at the university level. He enjoys traveling with his wife, and astrophotography when he has time.
